Materials and finishes

• Timber: hand-selected Solid Pine and 18 mm Pine Plyboard or Supawood (for painted canopy and shelf options)

• Varnish: water-based, clear matte varnish, kid-safe

• Paint: water-based and kid-safe, with a PU protective coating for added water resistance and UV protection. The paint is washable to remove playtime residue and sticky-finger marks

• Combination finish: white painted unit and side canopy stand with a varnished countertop and scallop canopy

Safety and care

• Use on a level surface and supervise young children

• Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and a drop of mild dish soap; dry immediately

• Kid-safe cleaners only - no bleach, vinegar, or harsh chemicals.  Avoid abrasives and steam

• Optional thin wax on varnished areas 2 - 4 times per year for extra sheen and light water-beading.  We love the ProNature Wax Balm (beeswax + carnauba, plant-based) and Woodoc Deep or Interior Maintenance Furniture Wax (liquid maintenance wax for indoor wood and over varnish). Easy wipe-on, buff-off.

Handcrafted and made to order. Typical lead time: 2 - 3 weeks. This can vary, so please check in with us for up-to-date timings, especially if your order is time-sensitive for a gift. We offer nationwide delivery or collection from our workshop in Fish Hoek.
